WHERE: The University of Queensland (City campus)
308 Queen Street Brisbane City, QLD 4000
Please join us to explore the opportunities for the Earth Observation industry in Queensland to support the Critical Minerals sector.
Earth observation has the opportunity to play a more significant role in Queensland’s mining activities. From pre-mining exploration through to post mining rehabilitation, satellite earth observation can deliver innovation and efficiencies in discovery, assessment, and monitoring. New technologies and new datasets present new opportunities across these activities, including synthetic aperture radar imaging, hyperspectral imaging, and machine learning models and tools for analysing the images.
We welcome you to register for this in-person workshop, and to circulate this invitation to anyone who would benefit from taking part.
Participants: Mineral resources and earth observation industries with interesting problems to solve, researchers with expertise and capabilities.
Outcomes: The workshop will solicit challenges and opportunities in the critical minerals mining domain, such as using hyperspectral imaging for exploration or monitoring the rehabilitation of mines and tailings sites. Participants will be encouraged to apply to the Queensland Earth Observation Hub’s funding round, as well as upcoming Queensland Government funding opportunities.
