Thanks to our ongoing collaborative relationship with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), SmartSat is pleased to announce the NASA Internship Program 2025. Exclusive to SmartSat Higher Degree Research students, we are pleased to be offering up to two positions to undertake a 10-week internship with NASA JPL in California, USA from June to August 2025. Successful applicants will receive a stipend from SmartSat, as well as coverage of any travel costs. Interns will be assessed by a committee of NASA and SmartSat representatives. Successful applicant will participate in NASA’s 10-week internship program, where the applicant will be paired with a mentor to work with on a NASA specified project. Work undertaken will not necessarily feed into the applicant`s own research. To be considered eligible for this internship opportunity, you must meet the following requirements: Student must be an active SmartSat PhD student pursuing a higher education degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics disciplines (past ‘Confirmation of Candidature’ stage) at the time of the internships (up to August 2025) Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. or equivalent (3.5 preferred) Student must have the ability to take time away from their PhD research, approved by their PhD Advisor Student must be either a US citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident or Foreign National from non-designated countries. Students must not be from an ineligible country as listed on the NASA designated countries list In addition, any affiliation with a designated country (such as, country of birth, dual citizenship, employment or academic institution) will result in the student being associated with said designated country, and therefore subject to these restrictions.
