Hassam Tahir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from HITEC University, Pakistan. He has two master’s degrees; one in software & communications engineering from Hongik University, South Korea, and another in Engineering Sciences (by research) from Multimedia University, Malaysia. His master’s research focused on distributed AI/ML, Beyond 5G, Intelligent Communication, O-RAN, and Cloud Computing. Tahir has a robust technical and industrial background, effectively bridging the gap between research and industry and exploring innovative research areas. He has established strong collaborations with notable institutions such as Penn State University, Mount Union University, and United Arab Emirates University. He has a proven track record of publishing in prestigious Q1 journals and IEEE flagship conferences, including IEEE GLOBECOM. Currently, Tahir is a PhD candidate at Swinburne University, where his research focuses on explaining the root causes of anomalies using modern explainable AI (XAI) techniques to enhance the stability and resilience of autonomous space systems.
