P3.33s Solar Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence (SIF) for plant health/stress and productivity remote sensing applications

Next Generation Earth Observation Data Services

Raja Ram Aryal, The University of Queensland

This project aims to develop methods that aid the interpretation of remotely sensed canopy SIF across homogeneous (agricultural) to heterogenous (forest) plant canopies using digital twins and radiative transfer simulation models. Various SIF sensors (tower, UAV, and satellite level) will be simulated that mimic current or future planned sensors. In addition, it is possible to characterise the SIF signal changes from proposed canopy disturbance events (logging, fire, disease) to build algorithms that can detect these changes from real-world sensors.
