La Trobe University

A lover of technical challenges and a seeker of knowledge in all its forms, Brandon studied Physics, Maths and Computer Science at La Trobe University. Any sentence that starts with “Did you knowthat…” instantly gets his attention and he is easily engrossed by a difficult problem.

After finishing a Computer Science Honours in Deep Learning, Brandon has been working for the last few years as a research assistant under Dr Zhen He at La Trobe in his AI group. The projects Brandon has worked on are mostly in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Sport to develop deep learning models to analyse athletes from video, including much of the work to get those deep learning models in front of people who can use them with a usable interface. Brandon wants to work on real problems that can help the world. He is inspired by good intentions paired with practical uses. Brandon enjoys talking about himself in third person.
