Ethan Elms holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a major in Data Science from The University of Queensland. With over three years of professional experience in software engineering, cybersecurity, and solution architecture, Ethan chose to pivot from industry to academia. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Australian Institute of Machine Learning at The University of Adelaide, where his research centres on onboard close-proximity Space Domain Awareness. His research investigates the application of event-based vision for central 3D perception tasks, including Pose Estimation, Structure-from-Motion (SfM), and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). Ethan’s research interests include Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
