Kathiravan Thangavel completed his bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Anna University-Chennai, India. Following this, he went on to complete a master’s degree in aerospace engineering at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Kathiravan completed the International Space University Space Studies Program 2019. He developed an earnest interest in research which blossomed in the form of small projects during college days and earned a lot of appreciation from peers and teachers which led him to pursue a career in Research. Currently, he an early-stage researcher (Ph.D Candidate) at Cyber-Physical System Research Group, RMIT University. He is excited about research in space and the potential of exploring space to the benefit of humanity, and his key areas of interest are Distributed Satellite Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomy, Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, Thermomechanical Analysis.
