Professor Kirk McKenzie

Professorial Chair of Precision Measurement in Space

Kirk McKenzie is an expert in inter-satellite laser interferometry for Earth Observation and Astrophysics applications. He has led the Australian National University Space Interferometry group in the Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics since 2019. Before this he spent 11 years at NASA-Jet Propulsion Lab, working on the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) and Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) Follow-On missions. He was the NASA Laser Ranging Interferometer Instrument Manager (2016-2019) on the GRACE Follow-On mission and performed other roles such as NASA LISA Phasemeter Instrument Scientist and as the NASA LISA Interferometer System Engineer.
